The Orleans is like a business that has allowed itself to run down and management is trying to change it in an evolutionary manner; it isn't working. Something more drastic needs to be done.
Most tables are filled with very experienced calling stations who readily fold; but with too many in a pot1 to 3 of them has a draw to beat the best hand on the flop.
The best dealers are good, unfortunately there aren't many of them.
The best part of the room. Service is friendly, often and quick, great uniforms.
Management can't decide if it wants a serious poker room or to cater to the locals. The poker room also seems to be the step-child of this casino and lacks the full support of casino operations. One thing I noticed, that is a management problem, is that a select group of locals can leave a table at will and not have to pay for missed blinds. (They also have their comp lights left on so they continue to earn while not at the table, this doesn't bother me so much but is a sign of the cozy relationship between these players and certain dealers.) Not paying their blinds does bother me and it is a lack of supervision that allows that to occur.
Comps are good and, now, automatic.
