Nice, but Could Be Even Better

Very nice room. It seemed like the tables are new, with committment lines, shufflemasters, etc, but are already getting worn out due to the constant use. They do discriminate based on the game and stakes you are playing. The 4-8 games especially are packed together, luckily the 8-16 games I played were on the edge of the room by the rail, and there it's more roomy. The medium stakes games are to the right of the manager's desk when you first enter, and the spacing is much easier. This was why I didn't knock over Barry Greenstein as I was leaving the cashier's cage...=).

The locals were very good, and very readable, the tourists were a pain in the butt to play against. All the bad beats I took were here and were against tourists who were either drunk as a skunk or had no idea what they were doing. Two players in particular stand out. One was a drunk Australian who is every bit as obnoxious as Tony G, but doesn't play as well. The other was the 'housewife from @#$%' who had a habit of calling 3 bets with 4-3 suited and sucking out either the str8 or the flush on the river. Once you figured this out, you could get your money back and then some.

Good dealers, the games were fast, the pots were right, very few misdeals. Some are lacking in personality, but again I suspect part of that is they have been seriously overworked during the WSOP and the other big tourney the Bellagio was having at the same time.

Nice girls, very attractive, very friendly. My one objection is that the drinks are smaller in the evenings. For instance, I drink just coffee, diet coke, and orange juice when I play, and the juices and sodas were in highball glasses in the evenings, and the taller/bigger glasses during the day. The wait time wasn't too long considering the high volume of traffic.

I would rate them a 4, but there are two problems. One, they are very disorganized in the evenings. Two, they are not nearly as personable as those at the Mirage. On the whole they run a good room, but they also seem at times like they would rather be somewhere else.

You can get the usual $15 food comp, but the managers make you feel like they are being inconvenienced. To be fair, this room is always full, so they are probably getting asked that all the time.
