Great First Vegas Poker Experience

Small but nice room. Flat panels in each corner of the room for sports and adjacent to the sports book. Monte Carlo seemed like one of the less crowded casinos, and the poker room was equally uncrowded.

Wide variety of experience levels here. Played 2-4 and both 9a and 6p NL tourneys and each had a mix of locals and tourists. Never felt like I was being pushed around by sharks and learned quite a bit.

Each dealer was very efficient and friendly and kept the games going smoothly. There was one dealer who was constantly asking the players at the ends of the table to push cards/chips closer to him, which annoyed a couple of players, but wasn't a big deal.

Quick, friendly service throughout the day. Waitresses used a bar that services the adjacent sports book, so turn around time was very short. The smaller room size helped keep things moving well.

Nice team of managers. Quickly and correctly made judgment calls as necessary. One manager caught a NL tourney player who brought his chips out w/him on a break and promptly but courteously disqualified the player. The player didn't realize it was a violation, but he left the tourney without much of a fight, largely thanks to the manager's demeanor.

Nothing of note here. I would guess an average room for comps and jackpots based on the conversation with other players at the table.
