A little over a year ago I needed to kill a couple of days in Southern California between my Football Team's (I was the Sports Psychology Coach for the Las Vegas Showgirlz) playoff game and some non-poker coaching business. OK, I'll be honest, I had a timeshare vacation in Oceanside. I had always wanted to visit Oceans11 and never gotten the chance.
The room itself not only hosts great No Limit Hold'em Poker cash games and tournaments, they have several "California" table games: Blackjack (21st Century Blackjack 4.01 with patented No-Bust Feature), Progressive Three Card Poker 6 Card Bonus, EZ Baccarat Panda 8, Progressive Fortune Pai Gow Poker, and Progressive Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Unlike most Nevada and AC casinos and California's Indian casinos, the players do not play against the House, instead the role of Player/Dealer who acts as Bank.
Everything about Ocean's 11 was more than satisfactory. The dealers were efficient and friendly and kept the games in check. Though I was playing lower stakes, the competition was good. It wasn't an Aquarium, but it wasn't a Shark Tank, either. Each table I had held a mix of weak and strong players with most of them locals, though a few out of town business types were playing.
With daily low stakes tournaments and lively cash games it was a nice place to spend a couple evenings playing cards. The promotions, jackpots and special tournament schedule make it a place you will want to return to, I know I will.
