Better Than Expected

While not actually a room (the tables are set in a roped off area between the sportsbook and the buffet on the second floor), the tables and chairs were new and comfortable and there was planty of room at the tables as they were somewhat oversized. (A dealer told me they were converted roulette tables). There is a slot area next to the end of the room nearer the sportsbook, but even when I was seated right next to it during a tournament, it was not noisy enough to be distracting. Overall a very comfortable room.

There were a few locals, but when I was there it was mostly tourists ranging from newbies to decent. The problem is that the newbies will hardly ever fold. Twice I had top two pair (Kings/Queens and A/10) on the flop and was beat on the river both times. The worst was to a 3-7 straight where they had 3,6,7 after the flop and chased to river despite my raising and sure enough drew the 4&5. I sat in right after the morning lessons and thought I would be able to take advantage of the newer players, but by the time I got used to the style of play the tournament was starting. Tournament was okay, but the blinds raise so rapidly it is difficult to hang in unless you get a few hands worth playing aggressively. Eventually was knocked out 20 out of 32 when my KK/10 10 was beat on an all in by a gutshot flush draw. Would have liked to try the tournament again but did not get the chance. My advice on the tournament is that since there is a rebuy, take the chance to try to double up early - a big early stack makes all the difference.

No screw-ups, friendly but not memorable.

The IP has some very nice looking waitresses, and since the sportsbook bar is right there, service is very fast. I would estimate they were checking the tables every 5-7 minutes with the drinks coming in just a couple minutes. The room was only half full at the time I was there, so it may be a little longer during peak times.

No problems when I was there. They took care of my tournament registration for me while I was playing limit. But again, it wasn't too busy at the time so I'm not sure how they are when it gets really crowded.

Not much for high hands, no bad beats, but $3 per hour is not bad for playing 2-4 limit.
