Competition is great at the old Choctaw if you like playing against collusion and having the dealers high all the time. The dealers being high throughout their entire shifts makes for a great competitive atmosphere in which you have to do their jobs for them AND to be on your toes against the colluders at the same time. Them being high all the time also makes it way easier for the colluders to get away with just about anything. Most of the floor men here are high all the time too. The one exception was Mark Lemke and even he was just here passing his time for a promotion which has already transpired.
The more noticeable collusion that goes on here is of the couples type ie: boyfriend/girlfriend, I'll provide a couple of instances below. The floor men and even the managers here do nothing to stop it because I guess they think having a couple at the table is cute and makes for a friendly atmosphere. I've even seen one of the girlfriends being 3rd man walking for 20 minutes and after yelling at the David Arbuckle about it nothing was done because they're buddies.
The two major colluding couples are Isaac Do & Jenny Nguyen plus, to a lesser extent "Cage" Khristian Gardner and Kendra.
I've been at this poker room for the past 6 years straight so I know everything that goes on here.
Isaac and Jenny are for the most part passively colluding for extremely long sessions, ie: sitting right next to and soft playing each other. However I can give the exact date, time, flop turn and river when Isaac actively signaled Jenny to fold an over-pair on the flop to me by waving his hand back and forth in front of his neck. I had my hat low and he thought I didn't see him as he started to accentuate his hand movement as she kept on talking about folding an overpair. She finally noticed and then folded. Yeah I saw you all right there Yoo-hoo. A third player called after she folded. I say exact date and time because I screenshotted the report that I turned into the security booth. Of course nothing was done about it cause hey, it's the Choctaw. The poker room here is just a side show to their main operation of raking in all the local drug addicts slot money. But their passive collusion is so detestably obvious to the point of obscenity. What usually transpires is they will start off at different tables but sure enough Isaac will scout out a table where the action is and within an hour or two Jenny will find a way to table change to his, usually sitting right next to him. Then they'll play for the next 16-36 hours just sitting right next to each other. This has been going on for a good year now. However just recently they've brought another kid along with them named Kayden. There was one night they were all three sitting next to each other in a row on a table with huge stacks on it, sat there for hours into the night. Same story with Kayden, they will all scout out and eventually migrate to one table. Can't really blame them though, it seems like she needs it cause she's usually in a constant state of losing her @#$% when she's not sitting right next to him.
Cage and Kendra aren't so obvious but it's the same deal, sit at one table and soft play each other and pick up the morning promotions on the same bankroll. However I must say that Kendra is never actively trying to get on Cage's table the way Jenny and Kayden do. There was only one instance when I caught any kind of active collusion between them and it was Cage berating another player for calling Kendra's preflop raise and then making some kind of hand signal. Kendra in the 9 seat on the button made it 25 to go preflop, Marcus, an older, really friendly regular in the 1 seat called and Cage sitting next to him in the 2 seat turns to him and almost whispers "What the @#$% are you doing?!". Marcus replies "I know but..." and then Cage very distinctly looks at Kendra and with his left hand opens and closes his fist three times fast. I was sitting in the 3 seat and I chuckled at this. Cage folds and Kendra and Marcus check it down and Marcus' AK suited wins by ace high (??). So aside from the fist pump and berating Marcus this made me really wonder. Kendra plays extremely tight and rarely raises preflop unless she has a huge hand, but she loses at showdown to ace high here? It makes no sense. She never showed her cards but it starts to make sense after I thought about how Cage berated Marcus for calling her $25 raise. I figure that because Cage was in the big blind he must have signaled her in some way to raise because he had some kind of hand and was scared he had to BB raise it, other wise how does she lose to ace high here after she makes it $25 being the extremely tight player she is? Then Marcus' call ruined it for him and that's why he had to impulse berate him. Either way Cage is a scumbag and I've seen him cussing Kendra out a couple of times really badly. The next day I told him I saw him and he got flustered and threatened to kick my @#$%, absolutely HILARIOUS.
