This was a pretty solid room before they closed and reopened. It had a decent 1/2 and a great 2/5. Traffic decreased gradually since 2008 and as South Point improved in every aspect the past few years, that probably was the main reason this room shut down. You'd figure that they'd come up with attractive promos to regain the South Point customer base, but the only reason I've heard that some players went back is because it's a shorter drive. The rake is the same as South Point and Orleans ($8) but the promos are insulting. What's worse is that Station Casinos took away the Jumbo Jackpot and left the rake the same. Where does the money go?
Grand reopening had plenty of tables running as expected, but died down to normal at 3am or so (down to a couple of tables). That speaks volumes of how the room is ran as well as the competition. Now the room routinely goes dark. I'll set the under at 2.5 years for it to shut down permanently. The only logical explanation that they keep it open is to keep the five star resort rating (a poker room is required to have as such).
One OMC in a wheelchair with an attitude problem went all in and I called. He kept saying with conviction "you called me, you show." "No I called you, you're supposed to show." This went back and forth longer than it should have and the dealer didn't control the game and even told me to show. He did shove with a marginal hand and probably didn't want to show first. Seemed like an angle by a reg. I did generously lose 1k+ to him and instead of being friendly with me, as he racked up he goes "I'll be seeing you around plenty." No, you won't.
