One-Eyed Jacks

I'm moved to the Sarasota County area a year ago and have now played hundred or so hours at the One Eyed Jacks card room in Sarasota.
I was very surprised at the high level of dealer efficiency in this very friendly mid/large size room. All of the dealers I've played with have proven themselves to be very knowledgeable and take their profession seriously. They understand the value their job brings to their customers and the reputation of the room. All of them that I have played with have been well trained, courtious and patient. I have yet to feel the slightest sense of dealer entitlement from any of them unlike so many other rooms. I'm giving 5 stars to all of them.
The floor people and supervisors are also very efficent, dedicated and friendly too. Some of the house rules are are a little different than other rooms, but when it's time for a decision about a hand or a situation they are prompt, respectful, attentive, polite and consistent. I'm give them a well deserved 5 stars too.
The food and drink service is staffed by extra friendy and professional servers who actually pay close real attention to detail no matter how small it is (even if it's just a coke). I'm giving them all 5 stars also as well as the bartenders.
The food is not bad at all for a poker room. I'll call it a notch above of typical bar food. Your orders come out quickly. The servers bring your food to a nearby dining table as food is not served at the poker tables. It may be a bit inconvienent for someone that does not want to leave their seat to eat, but I think it is a good idea as you won't getting a swab of ketchup or mayo on your cards. This also keeps the game moving along at a good pace and your seat is held for you until you return from eating. I'll go 3.5 stars for the food.
Chair massages are just $1.50 per minute here as opposed to $2.00 everywhere else that I have been. I've never had one there myself but it seems the players I've witnessed all seemed to have been very satisfied.
This room is super clean at all times. No smoking is allowed and I have never smelled an unpleant odor. The bathrooms are kept spotless and odor free and there is always an attendent on duty to keep it that way. Yep, you guessed it. 5 stars again for cleanliness.
Action: They spread 1/2, 1/3 and 2/5 no limit hold-em games and do post sign ups for other games of interest. Some of the NLH 1/3 and 2/5 games play with double board Omaha bomb pots on dealer changes which you are not obligated to play and can sit that hand out. Personally, I thinks it's a nice change of pace. It keeps the game interesting and the action flowing. What I don't like is the higher rake for those double board hands and I hope they do away with that. Some of the players sit those hands out altogether for that reason so that action sometimes becomes hit or miss.
They also have regular "limit" hold-em games and Omaha small to mid stakes games. Most every night they get a full table of higher stakes Omaha just in case you have a need for speed. There is always plenty of action in this room for players at any skill level no matter what your preferred game is.
The run pretty good High Hand and other promotions that do vary from day to day.
The tournaments are mostly small buy-ins and are filled with very friendly regulars and some pretty good local talent and also run occasionial special tournaments that of course draw larger fields and prize pools.
Most of the small tournament breaks are just 5 minutes which I personally don't think is enough time and can make for a slightly over crowded bathroom (Hey guys, how about 10 minutes?).
Jacks location is in a decent part of town, it's easy to get to. There is no valet parking, but the free parking is more than sufficent.
