Today I joint the wait list for 2/2 NL. At the time there was no one else on the list. I got a confirmation text the 40 minutes later I updated my status as arrived and got a confirmation and noted that I was at the top of the list.
Shortly thereafter, I was shown to a seat and as I was buying chips the hostess came over and told me that there was another Mike that she was giving the seat to. Unreal. To top it off, I showed the host staff my online confirmations and then when they cleared the name at the top of the list I got a text that my seat was available.
In addition to having made a mistake and an apology would have been nice. Nope, no dice there.
However, they did hastily open a short handed table that I could join. Not a great opener for a poker session.
