Rake is taken on the flop and it is enormous. In small limit games on small pots sometimes they are taking over 50% of the pot. I feel sorry for the locals. Other rooms around town take similar rake. Totally winnable unless you are in a crazy off the wall game, and in two days I have not seen one. Tournaments are well run. Games have jackpots. At least you can root for a jackpot because it's hard to get even in these games! Years ago the action was fast and loose in LA. Now it seems like it's full of decent players.
