A friend and I drove up Saturday morning from Charlotte. We arrived around 11:00am.
The poker room is situated right beside the sportsbook. While standing in line to put our name on the 1/3 NL list, we noticed there were already 85 people on the list. They only had 8 of the 21 tables running. Sounds like they are having major problems getting dealers.
Finally, around 4:15pm they called our names. Yes, we waited over 5 hours to get a seat. By this time, the list had grown to over 200 people and there was some extremely mad people that drove like we did and couldn't play. They said they would text you when you have a seat but no text ever came.
The dealers were descent. Don't have much to complain about there. The table side drink service was horrible. Would have a server coming by maybe once an hour. I went to the bar by the sports book to get a beer. (A draft beer is $10 btw).
Also, the cleanliness of the place wasn't great. The restroom ran out of paper towels and hand soap, the trash receptacles were running over, and just misc trash on the casino floor.
Overall, we were very disappointed. I'll take the extra 1 hr drive to Cherokee until they get that mess figured out. Maybe try again next summer and see if anything has changed.
