Competition: 4/5 New England has some of the best low stakes action in the country. The 1-3 games are very beatable but the $300 max instead of 400-500 leaves something to be desired. The 2-5 and 5-10 games are tougher than they could be which also keeps this from being a 5/5 rating. The 2-2 PLO was legendarily bad early on but while still soft action has tapered off a bit
Promos and Comps:2/5 The high hands seem to work well for creating action. The bad beat is unique and interesting as they offer 14 different NLH bad beats however it does very little to create action. The comp rate of $1/Hr is average but you cannot use them everywhere in casino and I have had the issue of not recieving all comps for hours i played in the past. The drink comps are limited with only a fraction of the drink services being offered in the poker room in comparison to the slots and table games downstairs.
Dealers:3/5
There is a mix of great and experienced dealers and newer dealers with no experience (who are excellently trained) some of the small things like table talk or electronic devices at table are not uniformly controlled. So it creates an atmosphere where newer dealers dont know better and (most better dealers) dont bother because they work for tips and don't want to alienate their customers by being the only ones to speak up. This could be an easy 5/5 with some tweaking about how to reinforce the basics! (Shout out to dealers like Charles who consistently do their job great and uphold the rules to the best of their ability guys like him are essentially the gold standard for dealers anywhere)
Food/Drink: The food is mediocre and drink service is average at best. Mostly due to the fast paced nature of such a large poker room. They lose points here because the drink options have been limited since opening day and poker room gets 2nd tier treatment compared to the rest of the casino.
Management: 4/5
The management here is top notch in experience wise and practice and about as good as you can get overall. They have a great leader and it maintains all the way through their dual rate floors. It is a solid mix of some of the New England areas best and brightest floors mixed with some of the best poker minds from arounr the country who were brought in when this placed opened. Fails to ger a perfect 5 rating from me because I find a handful of the supervisors to take on a bit of a "bad cop" attitude when making floor calls and although even these people are excellent at their jobs i feel it leaves something to be desired in terms of customer service.
