Went for the first time last night and played a tourney. I'd read all the negative reviews and my experience wasn't like that at all - not one bit. Staff was helpful and friendly to get me a players card when I hadn't been to a harrahs in over a decade. Cashier could have simply taken my money and sent me on my way but he was very specific to ensure I knew where to go to get to my table. Table consolidations and move were quick and efficient so I didn't waste precious minutes of the blind level. One dealer specifically, Brett, is hilarious and really lightened the mood. The rules were enforced appropriately to ensure players weren't shooting angles, while not penalizing inexperienced players for simple mistakes. I never had to try to find a server for drinks, as they were available and attentive. The room manager was friendly and told us he appreciated us waiting to get back to our table after break - unexpectedly friendly and pleasant to be honest. I've been to other "non smoking" rooms where I come out wreaking of smoke. That wasn't the case at all at Harrahs Cherokee. I'm only in this area this week so I wish there were more tourneys but I understand in the current climate. I couldn't have been more happy. Great facility and I had a great experience thanks to the poker room staff.
