This is a very nice poker room as far as furnishing go, however I felt like the room was laid out poorly. You cannot see all the tables from any one place in the poker room due to the fact it is cut in half in a weird way and has its own cashier cage. The closest bathrooms were ridiculously small with only 3 stalls and maybe 5 urinals. For a 23 table poker room and a 5000 room hotel, this is unacceptable in my opinion. I had to actually wait in line to take a @#$%. There is a lot of technology, however I think they are much too dependent on it. The experience seemed almost depersonalized because of it.
I made quite a bit of money in a relatively short period of time. There is a lot of younger players, but also a good number of calling stations. Many are inexperienced. I saw a 21 year old (I'm assuming) flop the nuts with a set of queens. There were two diamonds on board and he pushed all in with a caller. He put him on the diamond draw and another diamonds came on the turn and the river paired the board. The caller showed ace-king diamonds and the guy with the queens mucked his winning full house because he couldn't read the board correctly. Another player straddled in 1-2 no limit and had about 4 or 5 callers and he pushed preflop with 49 offsuit. There are a few solid players, but most can be pushed around. I steamrolled the table the first hour or so I played betting on the come.
There is this dealer named Gina who is the absolute fastest poker dealer I have ever seen. She made zero mistakes and she was going a mile a minute. She identified hands correctly in an instant and even recognized when an ace high flush was the second nuts to a straight flush in the blink of an eye. She was lightning fast and with the autoshufflers, we got in many many hands in a short period.
I think the cocktail waitress went to Holland for my Heineken.
The management seemed to be on top of things, however the technology brings this rating down. It's all about seats and money instead of the players. I asked the floor man to lock a seat for me so I could goto the bathroom before I sat down. He did it and I returned a few minutes later and he didn't even remember me! I had to tell him I had a seat locked and went the bathroom etc. and he finally lead me to my seat.
The comp cards are swiped right at the table. No jackpots at all for anything. I hear you get $1/hr which is standard for comps.
