The room itself is large. Auto shuffelers, computerized waiting list and comfortable tables and chairs. I have visited a few other poker rooms in Vegas and this is the best I have seen so far. The music in the bar, and other noise didnt really bother me much. I like how it is somewhat open and in the middle of the casino floor, and not a cramped room in some corner. The marble ring inlay is a bit odd, and seems to me to make the table feel smaller, but I was able to get used to it. There was also little or no wait.
I played the 1-2 NL both days, and there seemed to be a good mix of locals, novices, and experienced players. Nobody seemed to stand out as a tough player. I didnt come across any drunks, but I also played mid day. There was a more preflop action and loose calls than I have experienced at other rooms. I was able to adjust by being a little more patient, and then take advantage of the loose calls. I think most levels of players could find a game that suits thier abilities here.
I have no complaints about the dealers. There were no misdeals or other major mistakes. The only thing I noticed was one exposed card, not a big deal. Their personalities were nice, but not to over bearing. Which is also great because Im not real big on dealers who think thier the life of the party. I just want a smile, my cards delt quickly, and the rules of the game inforced fairly.
Cocktail service was great. The servers were atractive, not that it means much to me, I was there to play poker, thats what Studio 54 is for if thats what your interested in. More importantly they were fairly prompt, maid no mistakes on my orders, and the drinks were good. I was drinking Red Bull and vodkas. They did seem to dissapear once in a while for 10 or 15 minutes, but the dealer can summon them at the touch of a button, so that wasnt to much of an issue if you really need something to drink.
Management seemed to deal whith players with professionalism and a smile, although there were no major problems that needed to be delt with while I was playing,so I cant say how they can deal with a serious issue. The people I did come across seemed to enjoy working there which gave a nice vibe to the experience.
A dollar an hour. Thats it. I would like to see a bad beat progressive, high hand jackpot, or at least double the current hourly to two bucks. Then they could get a 3 or 4 rating from me.
