New Room, New Attitude

The Tables in the new poker room are lovely, as long as you like the ones with the sort of marble edge for chips (but not cards the dealers are quick to remind you!) The plasmas are okay, but few and far between, but the over all atmosphere is of a top notch card room, more liberally spaced than the Bellagio

The people I played here over 5 days were incredibly loose. I saw so many calls at turn and river and about 20 bust flushes. By playing tight, money is there to be made from the (mainly) kids with caps on backwards and ESPN on their brain. Mind you, I got burnt with QQ against jacks for a lot when he hit the flush. Bad beats are a risk of all the action and loose calls.

The dealers have a lot of chat and I saw only a couple of mis-deals, but the professionalism isn't quite that of the Bellagio, or the sense of experience from Binions Dealers.

I drank water in the days, but succumbed to their offers of beer in the evening (costing me more in lack of game!) and they offered me some great sandwiches after only an hour of playing $1-$2 no limit. Pretty quick too.

Although the room has a large computer list for the tables, there are two entrances and different managers seemingly booking at each. The loudspeaker on one end where the calls were coming from wasn't working at the other end of the room and so the names being called were sometimes missed, leading to angry punters. Also, the old dear on the main desk was as deaf as a post and kept trying to put me on the list for $4-$8 limit when I wanted $1-$2 no limit

As I mentioned before, food was nice, but I didn't see any high hand bonuses or bad beat bonuses anywhere, although they may have been there. Overall, I like the room, especially the $1-$2 NL, with a max buy in of $200, this was $100 more than the Aladin (although I believe this has changed too) and the games offered good action.
