I think everyone has already gone into depth about the great layout...who am I to dissagree? During New Years it was extremly packed! Lots of rail birds spectating! What is very nice is the large plasma screens that display the waiting list. This allows for a quick walk by in determining wait time...and for the staff to handle other things than a countless amount of people wondering where they are on the list! Chips and felt were comprised of excellent quality. They had a sweet granite edge for your chips! Really classy!
Again, I stress this was over New Years. The waters were stocked! From an American perspective, the Euro being worth more than the dollar is bad news except in one arena...POKER!! These Euro's splash the pot like its play money or something! No fancy plays needed, just solid play. Oh, and another important note: I was playing around 5 am as this is when I could get seated without a wait!
I wasn't blown away by the dealers. The were efficient...thats the most important thing. Most lacked personality.(maybe because they were stuck while the rest of the town was getting loose!)One guy acted all "gansta" and had the worst lingo. It was ike he was trying to incorporate street craps into our game of poker! I was tired! (5 am) So I wasn't feelin it!
It was packed and near 5 am! So, they probably didn't want to push the drinks anymore than they had to! It took me an hr. to get a water! I asked my dealers a half dozen times, asked the floor manger another 4 times...with no result! So I got witty and it worked! I grabbed the floor manager and asked out loud "I didn't know that the MGM was BYOB?" Laughter erupted at my table because I was persistant to say the least! It finally got his attention! When he brought me one...I said "go ahead and bring me another!" It never happend!
Considering the cluster "mess" the MGM fosters over New Years. They did a great job handling it!! By far the busiest poker room in vegas!
