When I first turned 21, I was intimidated by the thought of taking my game and playing in a live poker room. Thanks to Poker Atlas, I came to find out that the Plaza Casino is a great place for a first time live player in Vegas to get a feel for the tables in a social environment.
I played a 2pm tournament here and it definitely was a great starting point in my live poker journey. The buy-in into the tournament was low ($12), the competition was novice, and the electronic tables were forgiving to those with very little to none live poker experience.
I've grown apart from playing at these tournaments as I have progressed through this last year, and playing in bigger buy-ins and more sophisticated poker rooms, but I definitely enjoyed playing here while it lasted. It definitely helps you get into you comfort zone, and open up.
The only downside is, if you're into the physical chips and cards - this poker room is not going to be for you. They have no live dealers, no physical chips, and the game is completely run through an electronic poker table system, both for cash games and tournaments.
