The last couple times I've visited Dallas, I've stopped by the TCH to get a few hours of felt time in. And although I usually play in casinos, this is one of the best card rooms I've been in. The location is in a safe and clean area, with solid to good food places within a few feet of walking distance (recommend 'Jam and toast' for breakfast, brunch, and lunch).
There is on site security. Easy for share rides to locate you and pick you up.
Inside is well maintained and mostly clean(wish they had readily available wet wipes to wipe down the poker tables after certain players leave, because some of them leave a mess and there isn't anything to clean that spot with without asking or bothering the wait staff to come do it.
They offer food service inside. Got to admit, for a poker room, the food is solid, not great, there are plenty of choices on the menu and a good selection that should fulfill your appetite while playing.
The players, for the most part are cordial and competitive. And the best part, WANT to gamble!
The dealers hand shuffle, so sometimes it can seem slower than the dealers that use the deck mate but it might be by a couple seconds per hand or so. The dealers are attentive and professional. Which helps when their are any disputes.
The greeting and seating staff, along with the cage are courteous, helpful, and polite.
The only negative thing I can say about the place(aside from the lack of cleaning products readily accessible) is the one "Dart table" they have. It's essentially a home game table that has hard stardard chairs are very uncomfortable. All the players hated sitting at that table and requested to transfer from it. Even the dealers had negative comments about it. Not sure if this is a temporary table or not, but it's trash and ruins your poker experience. It's also much cooler playing on that table than any other table in the room(I recommend to bring a heavy hoody or sweater or warm jacket, if you do have to play on that table)
Bathrooms are decently clean, but could use a more frequent cleaning.
Overall I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are looking for good games, in a safe location and friendly environment.
