Room looks much nicer and cleaner than it used to be. Security was friendly. Chips need cleaning or replaced. Drinks are very fair priced, except the generic $2 bottles water. Payouts on uth are lowest in the state, which pumps the house edge to almost unbeatable levels, but minimum bets are also lowest I've ever seen ($2). Tournaments had great turnout, w mix of good and bad players which seem to constantly fade the guarantees. Managers were all nice and knowledgeable, and the dealers weren't bad, and remembered me even though I hadn't been here in almost 10 years. While playing 1/2 short handed I noticed the dealers took (rake & jp, not steal)$2 from a $4 pot, so I decided to get up, and I think the table broke temporarily til a few others walked in. i understand it's very difficult for them to pull market share while physically being in such close proximity to the HardRock . I applaud them for putting up a fight still, and think if they actually lowered their rake, and gave less of a house edge to the banker in their table games, They could advertise it and possibly increase business, and maybe get their PLO games back which they used to have a stronghold on. I could see it now "TGT, home of the only $3 rake game in Tampa !!" Every table full, lists keeping the games full, and a line of cars backing up the waters exit on 275 lol.
