Sitting in a 1-3 game last week. Guy makes it $10. Next guy makes it $50. Everyone folds. They took $6 rake with no flop. I and a couple others were aghast. I asked two brushes that make decisions. They said that was correct. Guy wins $13 and they take $6. So I went today another brush, he said it was correct. I asked the dealer at the game, he said there was $23 in the pot and said $3 should have been taken. That's still high without a flop. I am ok with $1. Hard Rock doesn't take a rake without a flop. I know 7 people that aren't going to Silks anymore. Many have left to play Derby. I like this room even though its 45 minutes away vs 25 to Hard Rock. Guess I will be making the shorter ride to play poker. Silks has great dealers and floor people. Very pleasant waitresses. But the rake is hard to beat without a flop. If a drinker, the prime game at Derby is a good deal even though total rake is $10. Free drinks and $15 food comp for five hours.
