Coming back into town for a July 4th holiday, I stopped by the Venetian to see if any improvements had occurred from my last review. Nope. The annoying "Bad Beat Jackpot!" screen still interrupts the computerized waitlists incessantly - every 10 seconds or so. One of the perky managers asked if he could be of any help, and I answered, "you could get that danged Bad Beat Jackpot screen off so we could actually see the table lists." His answer: It's an IT problem that he "needs to put in a request for." Hey, you know, it's been four months since you opened; you'd think given the level of complaints that something could have been done by now. Meanshile, the overly bright and light table felt is now showing significant staining, wear and tear - which it would, since it's too light. One thing I didn't notice from my last review: The seats have nice fabric backs - but sticky, sweaty vinyl seat cushions.
A reasonable mix of locals and tourists.
Dealers remain the weak point of the Venetian poker room. Exposed cards abound. One dealer completely missed a player in the game with obviously visible cards, and burned and turned before anyone could stop her. "Floor!" is a common word heard in this room.
Yes, they're free - but do sodas have to come in 4-ounce glasses full of ice? Two slurps and you're done and waiting 20 minutes for the waitress to show up again.
They're trying, but as I mentioned above, they seem to be incapable of asserting their customer service authority to get IT to fix their silly computerized waitlist screens.
A promo while I was there advertised $2/hour with a players card.
