New Years weekend visit. I played many hours Dec 29 and can't wait to get back to the table. If the same players I encountered do not run out of money this will be a great weekend. The room is a real room and close enough to the Casino for the energy and convenience but isolated enough to concentrate on Poker with out the noise from the slots. Plenty of TV monitors that can be seen, unlike the new airplane hanger called a poker room at Caesars. A computerized electronic list is displayed on a large plasma screen at the room entrance. The only feature I do not like is the room allows eating at the table. That is the only reason I don't rate the room a 5. The food comes from the Deli nearby at the sports book. This may be a plus for some but I prefer to take a break to eat in a proper environment and do not enjoy hearing "is it to me?" spoken through a mouth full of pastrami and waiting for the player to wipe mustard off his hands to check his cards. Play poker or eat but not both at the same time please.
I was surprised at the loose 4/8 game. Huge pots built by young players with too much money and not enough skill. Seemed to be all tourists with three friends raising each other just to be funny or macho. Waited for quality hands and let them build the pot for me. They showed down really bad hads on the river and paid me off nearly every time I had a good hand. One young player went to the river and showed a King high to my flopped nut flush. His friend tried to bluff me out with a busted straight. A four digit profit for a low limit game in about 10 hours is rare by my standards. The room was full all day and evening with a long list.
Exellent crew. I saw very few mistakes. A few exposed dealt cards was about the only thing they did wrong. Did not have a single floor decision over several hours.
Fast enough, accurate and pleasant. Plus all were about a size three and beautiful.
Efficient, especially considering the huge crowds. Players were quickly escorted to open seats and chip runners were fast. Did not see or hear any issues that need to be fixed. Floor personnel actually were friendly and seemed glad to see you. Bellagio personnel should have such manners and the Mirage could learn the advantage of the proper use of chip runners.
I think the house player card will get you the normal $1 an hour in comps.
