Binion's not what it used to be

For a number of years, Binion's was an acceptable alternative to the Golden Nugget for poker. A big tournament area could accommodate up to two tourneys at the same time, while a sunken area hosted cash games. Binion's was also home to the annual BARGE poker series as well as its own ongoing tournaments. The poker dealers at Binion's are the greatest. Poker comps are among the best in town.

This has changed in the last couple of years. Over the last two years, Binion's has closed the old poker tourney area (which now contains nothing in particular) as well as the main poker room (which has been converted to electronic gaming). The poker room is now located next to the sports book, and Binion's has limited the number of tables to six licensed cash tables.

While the Poker Hall of Fame remains in place, poker at Binion's is a shadow of its former self. All the poker action downtown is now at the Nugget.
