My new favorite room.

Wynn and the Mirage have nothing on the MGM (except higher limits and better players). Flat panels show the interest list on all the games, so you don't have to keep bugging the desk to see where you are on the list. The tables are the finest I've played on, with marble borders that keep your chips from falling over and beautiful new felt. Very roomy for 25 tables.

Also, they often have a 3-6 game (not listed here), as well as Horse (2-4, IIRC). I had never heard of Horse but asked the dealer and she said it's basically dealer's (button's) choice of the game. One hand could be hold-em, the next stud, the next Omaha Hi-Lo, the next razz, etc -- basically any casino poker game. She said the dealers hate it b/c it gets confusing remembering which game they're dealing. Didn't try it but might in the future.

As mentioned, the room is right next to Studio 54 so you're guaranteed to see hot drunk women strolling by all night. Might be a plus or minus depending on how easily distracted you are :)

Right now, I won't play anywhere else. Truly a top-notch place. I expect the limits to go up since this is one of the nicest rooms in town.

A good mix of solid players and calling stations. I had been playing at Excalibur and Imperial Palace a lot b/c of the steady supply of bad players. But sometimes it's nice to play against more predictable opponents who won't outdraw your set with 2-7 runner runner. I've only played the 2-4,3-6, and 4-8 tables, but the competition seems comparable at all 3. Not sure about NL.

Dealers are friendly. Haven't seen any screw-ups other than one or two exposed cards.

Waitresses attractive, though I personally don't like the outfits (business suit-like). Good service. Drinks are not watered-down.

Excellent. The tables all have electronic buttons that the dealers press to notify the desk of a free-seat, chip runner, etc. Since it's such a big room, management uses microphones to communicate -- which cuts down on running around.

Personally have not signed up, but I gave it a 4 just b/c I like the room so much.
