New MGM Poker Room: Best on the Strip

This room would definetly be a 5, but the bar/club located next to it emits loud music. This may bother some who need relative quitness to play, but not me. The room is smack in the middle of the action of the MGM, right next to the new sportsbook, bar, and Studio 54. Great views of partiers leaving the club. Noticed that there were alot more railbids than any other poker room, probably due to the central location of the room. Poker is absolutely put on a pedastal at the MGM.

Probably leaning more towards "easy", but there were a couple of local "rocks". Other than the locals, it was mostly tourist at the 2-4, 3-6 tables, ranging from novice to average. Good players should not have a problem holding their own.

I was so impressed with the MGM poker room, that on my first visit I stayed there for 16 hours straight; And every dealer I met was great. All were personable and gracious when you tipped. Only one incidence to note. It was heads up on the river, and the man under the gun bet, the other man raised, and the original bettor folded and mucked his cards (he had rasied preflop). I asked the dealer to show me the original bettors cards, and she showed them to me. I didnt realize that he had not called the raise, so the dealer had no right to show his mucked cards. The man who was a local became very upset and left.(his hole cards were 6-7off) The man complained, but I dont think anything materialized because the dealer was by far the fastest deal in the joint.

Stunning cocktail servers. They were not only good looking, but FAST! They really hustled for every toke, even during the wee hours of the morning. Drinks were coming out as fast as you can throw 'em down.

The management was good, they were all friendly and were good at managing the list. Only one minor problem, they called my name three times for a table that I had been playing at for 5 hours.

Comps were $1/hour, standard comp rate, with no cap on how much you can rack up in a day(which is good if your a marathon man). No bad beat jackpot or high hand jackpot.
