I've been playing at the Orleans for several years, and the last couple of years have been painful. If you want to play Omaha 8-or-better, this and Southpoint are pretty much your only choice, which is sad.
It's obvious why Southpoint has taken almost all of the Omaha games from the Orleans, but getting to Southpoint is a longer trip than I want to make 2-3 days / week, so I keep trying the Orleans.
The main problem is the floor refuses to start a new game, even with 20+ people checked-in on the list. The floor claims opening a new game would jeopardize an existing game because so many Omaha players are already in a different game (so what?). They should let people play the game they want, not the game they are currently running. It's not unusual to wait 2, or even 3 hours for a seat. It's also not unusual to give up and leave without ever getting an Omaha seat. But if they get 7-8 names on a 1-3 or 2-5 list, they're falling over themselves to start a new table. They appear to actively be trying to kill Omaha. They seem to not understand that if their Omaha players can't play Omaha there, we will go elsewhere, either for Omaha or Holdem.
We can overlook the sometimes sketchy (dirty, high, drunk, etc) players, if the manager would just act like he values the Omaha players. Other than blatant disregard for Omaha players, the management is pretty good at being fair and keeping the room under control. Dealers are generally good, about 1/2 are friendly with the regulars, the other half are just there to deal. Only a couple seem to be lost with Omaha. The promos are ok. They used to be better, but at least they've kept the bad beat and the quads promos.
