The Legend Continues . . .

A good size poker room which has two sections too it, one for cash games and the other for tournament play. There is plenty of room sitting at the tables too, and due to the room being an open plan there is a very relaxed feel to this room, also the washroom facilities are close at hand and it is possible to make it there and back without missing a hand.
They’ve add a couple of nice new touches too since I was last there, one; they have installed a very useful video system that gives you details of the blind structure and position payouts, as well as a count down to blind changes and breaks etc… But I especially like the new ‘final table’ that they have put in, basically a raised up table in the centre of the poker room, with a rail going all the way around for people to watch. This final table also has Perspex ‘viewing windows’ fitted for your hole cards, and as I understand this will be used for a Binion’s web cast in the future. You’re also find the pictures of the members of ‘Pokers hall of fame’ in this card room.

I played here three times on this trip, as I believe there $60 buy-in tournaments are close to the best value for money you can get in Vegas, (closely followed by the Sahara, and for the more affluent punter the Wynn). The players are a mix of regulars, internet guys and dolls on holiday for the weekend and others that just wondered in and thought they try there hand at poker just for the experience. (It’s always nice to get a fish on your table). As I said I played three tournaments here, went out just after the first break once, got too the second break in the other and made the final table on the once, so the game here is ‘do able’. All in all, this venue has to be played at least once, if for nothing more than the history.

The dealers here are generally a little old than you’ll find on the strip and give you a real feeling of playing in an old school venue, and there experience shows, the dealing is perfect and they control the table well whilst also being chatty and friendly. After about 8 hours play I can only remember one miss deal, excellent work.

Once again here you’ll find the waitress a little older than on the strip, but there service is just as good. They come around at a good rate, and are very attentive.

There appeared to be two managers working the poker room, one on the cash section and the other organising and running the tournaments, they both kept thing ticking over well.

Not sure about the comps etc… as I didn’t ask. I know that they offer the winner of each daily tournament a freeroll into there monthly ‘Tournament of Champions’ which is held on the first Sunday of the month, obviously if you in Vegas on holiday it may not be of much use to you, and if you are unable to make that event then you can give your free seat to anyone else on the final table with you
